Split
In about a week I will be splitting cheap chow, This will probably be on the lines of Cheap Chow staying cheap stuff you can cook in your house and Roadside Chow for hobo type recipes. Anyone who wants to handle this before that time is welcome. Ploney sep6-08
Brands
in today's new environment of corporate slaughter and slavery, it might do us well to include a list of bad brands here, as well. just a thought. --firsty 10:30, 1 August 2006 (PDT)
Discussion Page Clean-up
I cleaned up this discussion page. For the old info see the page's history. Jedite83 05:11, 16 August 2008 (UTC)
Yogurt
Someone added a section on yogurt, which is a great idea. More details are needed, though we don't want a huge section on it. This website: http://biology.clc.uc.edu/Fankhauser/Cheese/yogurt_making/YOGURT2000.htm has a great looking step-by-step recipe. Maybe someone could pare it down to the essentials? That'd be awesome. Consistency
Before publication, I would recommend making all measurements consistent with each other. So all recipes have "cups" or "c" rather than a mix of both.
- Also, if your recipe has structured guidelines, put it in the form of a list, not one big paragraph. It's a hell of a lot easier to read and follow.
I'd also suggest adding either Metric equivalents or at least a Metric conversion chart for fellow travelers who live outside the USA. Unidyne 03:25, 17 August 2008 (UTC)
MRE's
Would this be a good place to mention MRE's?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MRE
I've bought them on ebay a few times and while the taste leaves something to be desired, they do their job well enough.
They are already discussed in Caching and a small mention in Backpacking and Camping
