Talk:Computers
From Steal This Wiki
removed: In this late stage of capitalism, stealing computers is not just illegal and even wrong, but also totally unneccessary and very unwise. Stolen new machines can be traced by numbers recorded onto the hard drive and elsewhere, so don't uselessly endanger yourself and The Glorious Revolution by stealing anything you don't absolutely need to survive.
no stealing computers from corporations is not wrong, and no they can't be traced. it's certainly theoretically possible but has never been implemented. and if it had been implemented it would take about 10 seconds to fix.
- I did not type the original, however it should be recognized that at this point in time there exists many options of obtaining a decent computer which are far more attractive (in ease, viability, logistics, etc.) than stealing. This can range from trash discoveries, to Freecycle or other give-aways, to thrift finds, and so forth. Many are happy to have their older, large PC towers taken away for free. Chances are you know someone who knows someone who has a PC setting around unused. These machines can be very functional, especially if a proper Linux distro is installed.
