I'm wondering if there's a way to make the pages in this section editable only by users, not anonymous IP addresses. Or if there is another, better way to more closely monitor this section. This section requires (in my opinion) the most delicate language - we want to enable people to fight oppression and prepare people for necessary action, but we dont want to advocate unprovoked violence, etc.

At least, we should dialogue about this, I think. Thoughts?

You can block non-registered users on each page by clicking the "protect" tab that admins have at the top of each page. I can start doing that to pages in the Fight section if that sounds like what you wanted.
I agree that the discussion of techniques of violence should be primarily from a defensive standpoint: how to protect oneself from attacks, how to avoid and escape injury, etc. I don't really think this book is the place for the discussion of the violence of open warfare, since that's covered in so many other places.
While we're discussing things, I'd also like to see the word "pigs" phased out in favor of the more specific, less vernacular "cops". "Pigs" just sounds so dated, and I think it might confuse younger and non-native english speaking readers. Doctormatt 14:11, 29 August 2006 (PDT)
"pigs" does sound outdated, i guess. but "cops" is so relatively kind. is there another way to refer to leo as something other than "the police" or "the cops"? i remember back in my childhood, cops hated to be called cops. but now it's more accepted. i want to use a vocabulary in this text that communicates the disdain we (i?) have for these pigs. i mean cops.
as far as protecting, i guess thats what we can do. i was hoping for a less manual solution. there are a lot of pages in this section, and how would we prevent someone from adding a new page to this section, we'd have to protect each new page? i guess lets think about it, talk it over, etc. we are getting some more traffic again. yippie! --firsty 14:34, 29 August 2006 (PDT)
