Talk:General Plan
From Steal This Wiki
We need to plan for translation and zip files of current snapshot to put on many different mirrors. We might require removing the old "steal this book" to make it work for copyright reasons.Ploney 04:59, 2 August 2006 (PDT)
RE - (Sorry about the vandalism earlier; I couldn't resist. No hard feelings, eh?)
- no worries yo. all is well. i'm working on trying to get more people here, build more a community thing or something so we can better have consensuseseses and such. we need more publicization (altered) and more people here et cetera . carry on. bring yer friends. --firsty 18:36, 13 October 2006 (PDT)
Just as a suggestion, couldn't you make things a bit simpler by having your pages "branch off" rather than linking every page as a separate page? For example (I picked these arbitrarily, through hitting the "Random page") Hip Pocket Law/Legal Advice rather than Legal Advice? Then, there will automatically be a link back to Hip Pocket Law at the top of the page. (I'll make this one to show you, and you can delete it if you think this is a shitty idea or if it just gets in the way of the structure you're trying to create). I work on another wiki (no, not "that one"), and so maybe this is just a style thing, but it seems like it could maybe save you some work down the road.--thisniss 13:56, 8 May 2007 (MDT)
- Never mind, it didn't work. You must be running an older version of Mediawiki, or have something fucked up somewhere, because it should generate a backlink automatically. So... delete that page. Sorry, y'all. Good luck with the project! (p.s. there's way too much math here) --thisniss 13:59, 8 May 2007 (MDT)
It seems that most of the content is generated by annon writers, how will their content be managed by researchers who can post without fear of logging in? Any progress with nightly snapshots and the content freezes/editing for the alpha release? What content and changes are needed before we are ready to push for an alpha release? (too scared to login)
- good questions. every time i think i'm getting better able to do some of the down and dirty work, i get steamrolled by something. life as a revolutionary isnt always easy, as we all know. i'm currently juggling 2 legal problems and some kickass health problems. i need to go through this and create a starting point for the alpha releases. i think this weekend should provide some time, providing i can find some pickmeup to pick me up for a bit. i'll create a different TOC, which will be the target for the alpha release(s), and then create a schedule for it. i just have to do it. and i will, i'm on it this weekend. please dont be too afraid to log in, unless you're at work or something...so far, we're pretty under the radar, as far as i can tell. i've been singled out, but only because i'm the one who launched it, and because i was probably reported by people who, not due to any political leanings, wish me harm. i really think that mostly we're ok so far. and also - you can add work without logging in but if you "sign" it, using the same "signature", then at least you have the start of an identity that future editors can use to verify info, etc., later on. i have some ideas for snapshot releases. i also set up a www.tangler.com group for this group of people, which has already received some traffic. what i'll do, instead of simply asking questions, is create an alpha release, let everyone know what and where it is, and then get feedback, before making it more public. these kinds of things will be discussed in the forum (linked to from the main www.stealthiswiki.org page and also from the nav sidebar here), so keep an eye out at the forum for those kinds of announcements. firsty 10:09, 4 June 2007 (MDT)
Firsty, what kind of legal problems? (remember security culture) if there is fear of cancelation a mirror outside of North America might be smart. Looking forward to an alpha development release!! BTW I have had some problems related to STW from when I used a login, a webmail email was listed and it got shut down for TOS violation shortly afterward. I always connect through TOR now and use throwaway email addresses.
- legal problems unrelated to the site, except to the extent that i dont mix well with cops and other morons.firsty 11:07, 5 June 2007 (MDT)
