While some may have no other choice, those who have the wherewithal to incorporate themselves, etc., certainly can find other ways to get by rather than mooching off others (in particular, their working-class brothers and sisters). If one wants to acquire money via deception, one should take it from the government or corporation, not ones gullible brethren. I don't think this book should advocate ripping people off. The point was that dress and attitude change perception, the inspiration was a news story about the homeless protesting the closure of a Katrina hurricane shelter. The upper middle class superiorists want to give cash only to those who are either viewed as super sucessful sucessful so they can be part of the dream or those they want to belittle by pandering with a few bucks so the giver can feel big. If you want to take big cash dont do it by rattling a can on a corner. People want to write a check to an organization not a person. The wealthy of the world don't hand out cash. i think the idea works, but we can modify the language a bit. also, however, we're focusing on "survival," not rolling in money. the idea is to survive. if we're talking "big cash," we're talking the problem, not the solution. the solution isnt to provide big cash to the revolutionaries who need to survive in the meantime. --firsty 11:13, 10 August 2006 (PDT)

Research shows that people are only willing to give to what they think is the deserving poor, be prepared with decent clothes no more than one level of quality down from what is worn in the neighborhood you are schnoring in. If you want to rake the big bucks set up a bank account in the name of then accept checks in its name. If you go this far start spreading the good to your brothers and sisters.

The bank account idea is a way to allow bigger bucks from the check giving wealthy and upper middle class, I am thinking beyond sustinance and moving up to financing a rebellion. OTOH inflationary central banking and fractional reserve loan is the way the whole pig empire works. So it might be better to leave it all out.88.153.77.142 13:36, 10 August 2006 (PDT)

Playing music

Playing music on the street, with a can or open case is panhandeling right? What sort of punishment is standard for this? A fine? - Brady

This is generally called busking. Laws vary pretty widely - it's legal in many places in the U.S., though permits may be required. Here [1] is a nice page with some info. Cheers, Doctormatt 17:34, 18 February 2007 (PST)
