The tree sit is a way of preventing forest destruction in Occupied Cascadia and other places under the boot of Canada and United States.

Tree sits usually take place during the spring through fall logging season. An expert climber will ascend and make the anchor points for a platform or platforms which will be occupied by a tree sitter. This beautiful and peaceful protest and break from rent has increasingly come under attack especially in the USA by specially trained Freddies or Forest Police who will attack and endanger the lives of tree sitters. On private land where press and observers can be excluded private thugs have been known to brutalize protesters.

Tree sit protest tactics also often work well on large downtown bank towers and offices of corporations.
